Posted May 08, 2018 06:02:14The translator Google uses for its image search engine is “too lazy” to translate photos and video of local people and places, according to a new report.
The report, published by the Associated Press on Thursday, said that the Google translation engine’s inability to correctly translate photos is “a huge issue” for the company.
“Google’s image translation service can’t do basic translation tasks such as taking a picture, showing a translation and showing it to users,” the AP reported.
“In fact, it’s a major problem for Google’s image search platform, as Google’s translation engine is designed to be more than just a search engine.”
The AP report said Google is trying to improve the problem by introducing new translation tools.
However, Google said in a statement to CBC News that it is working to address the problem.
“It’s important to note that Google is not the only company to struggle with this issue,” the statement said.
“We have a large team of translators who are working around the clock to make our platform even better.”
A Google spokesperson told CBC News in an email that “translation is a complex task that can take a lot of time and resources, and the translation system is designed for a much faster process.”
“Our translation engineers are working hard every day to get better and more accurate translations for the Google image search app and our video and audio search,” the spokesperson said.
Google is also working to make its own translation software more powerful.
The company told the AP that it has already implemented several improvements, including a new algorithm that will make it much faster for it to translate pictures.
The AP also reported that Google has introduced new features that will let users use its Google Voice service to talk to people in countries other than their own.
In addition to Google Voice, Google is also partnering with a new online video chat service called VideoTalk that allows users to speak with people from different countries.
